Monika Finsterbusch is a German designer and children's book author born on November 7, 1954, in Berlin. She grew up in East Berlin before moving to West Berlin and later the Rhineland. After studying fashion design, she worked for over 20 years in the field before transitioning to the toy industry. Since 2006, she has focused on creating and illustrating children's books, notably as the author and illustrator of Princess Lillifee. She has lived in Switzerland since 2002 and received an environmental award in 2017 for her book 'Pipa Lupina – Wohin mit dem Krimskrams?'.
