Gerd Monika Dahlstrand, born on April 14, 1944, is a Swedish nurse and inventor known for creating a specialized anesthesia mask for infants. As an anesthesia nurse, she realized the difficulty in keeping the mask secure due to the child's restlessness. Her innovative mask features a built-in pacifier, allowing the child to suck while receiving anesthetic gas through the nose. She patented this invention in 1994. Additionally, Dahlstrand developed a laser suction device to eliminate hazardous gases emitted during laser knife surgeries.
