Mohsen Qara'ati is an Iranian Twelver Shia cleric born in 1945 in Kashan. Often referred to as Ayatollah Qara'ati or Hujjat al-islam Qara'ati, he became the representative of Sayyid Ruhollah Khomeini for the literacy movement organization in 1981. He also leads the Setade Eqame Namaz. Known for creating engaging lectures filled with timely humor, Qara'ati suggested a Halal laughing site for relaxation and controversially stated that anyone identifying as a Baha'i should be killed.
