Mohammad Khamenei, born December 25, 1935, in Mashhad, is the elder brother of Ali Khamenei and a key figure in drafting the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He is a cleric and lecturer at Iranian universities, currently serving as the head of the Sadra Islamic Wisdom Institute and a lecturer in international relations. He also worked as a lawyer and was president of the Iran Science Foundation until 2022. He represented Mashhad in the first Assembly of Experts for Constitution and was a member of the Islamic Council in its first two terms.
