Mogens Trolle Larsen is a Danish Assyriologist and archaeologist, notable for his expertise in the history and culture of the Old Assyrian period. He holds two doctoral degrees (D.Phil., 1966; Ph.D., 1975) and has served as an emeritus professor at the University of Copenhagen. He was elected as a member of the Danish Royal Academy of Sciences in 1995 and was made a foreign member of the American Philosophical Society in 2011. His significant works include 'The Old Assyrian City-state and its Colonies' (1976) and 'Ancient Kanesh' (2015).
