Möbäräk Battalof was a prominent Soviet oboist born on May 15, 1912, in Kazan, Russia. He was recognized as the Deserved Artist of Tatar ASSR in 1957. Battalof performed as an artist and soloist with the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre from 1941 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1971. In addition to his performing career, he was also an educator, teaching oboe at the Kazan Conservatory and Kazan Music School, influencing the next generation of musicians until his passing on December 8, 2006.
