Miyoko Tanaka (October 18, 1936 - December 21, 2023) was a Japanese literary critic, originally named Miyoko Kigore. She was born in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, and graduated from the French literature department of Waseda University. Tanaka gained attention with her essay on Yukio Mishima published in 'Bungakusha' in 1965, which led to a correspondence with Mishima. She contributed to the commentary of several of his works and was involved in editing the complete works of Mishima at Shinchosha, although she never met him in person.
