Mitxel Sarasketa is a Basque translator born on October 26, 1954, in Eibar. He was the first Basque political prisoner, serving a twenty-year sentence. During his imprisonment, he earned degrees in journalism and Basque philology and translated several books, including works by Bobby Sands and Joseba Sarrionandia. Currently residing in Algorta, he continues to contribute to the movement for the rights of prisoners, drawing from his own experiences.
