Mitsuo Ishikawa (August 19, 1918 - April 10, 1981) was a Japanese children's literature author from Tokyo. He dropped out of Rissho University and was conscripted into the military in 1943. In 1945, the special vessel he was on was torpedoed, but he miraculously survived. After the war, he worked for Shinchosha and wrote the children's story 'Wakakusa-iro no Kisen,' drawing on his wartime experiences. He primarily authored nonfiction works.
