Mitra Mitrović was a Serbian politician, feminist, and writer born in Požega in 1912. She studied Serbian-Croatian language and literature at the University of Belgrade and became politically active by joining the Communist Party of Yugoslavia in 1933. She was an anti-fascist who faced imprisonment during the German occupation of Serbia. Mitrović served as the Minister of Education in the People's Republic of Serbia and was a notable member of various feminist and anti-fascist organizations. She authored several books, including feminist works, and passed away in Belgrade in 2001.
