Misao Sasaki is a Japanese astrophysicist, born on December 16, 1952. He serves as the Deputy Director and Specially Appointed Professor at the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe. He previously held the position of Director at the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics at Kyoto University. Sasaki earned his Ph.D. in Science from Kyoto University in 1981, and he is known for his contributions to the field of astrophysics.
