Misael Bordier Chibás was a Cuban biologist born on December 27, 1946. He is well-known for his research into the antitumor effects of the venom from the blue scorpion, Rhopalurus junceus. Graduating in 1972, he discovered potential cancer treatments by administering scorpion venom to tumor-afflicted animals. In 1993, he treated a human cancer patient with the venom. He founded a holistic therapy center in Mexico with his wife, Xanath, successfully treating over 10,000 patients until his passing on November 4, 2005, which garnered significant public mourning.
