Miriam Mattinen Shearing, born on February 24, 1935, is an American lawyer and former judge in Nevada. She made history as the first woman to hold positions as a district judge in Nevada and served on the Supreme Court of Nevada as both a justice and the chief justice from 1993 to 2005. Her contributions have paved the way for future generations of female legal professionals, demonstrating leadership and breaking gender barriers within the judicial system.
