Miren Matanzas Gorostizaga is a Basque professor and politician born in Santurce, Vizcaya, in 1962. Since 2019, she has been a councilor in the Santurce City Council for EH Bildu and serves as the spokesperson for the EH Bildu Municipal Group. In 2023, she became the leader of the opposition in the Santurce City Council after achieving second place in the municipal elections for the first time, thus representing the primary opposition group.
