Minxiong Li (January 23, 1932 – January 2, 2009) was a Chinese percussionist, composer, and music educator born in Shengzhou, Zhejiang. He learned traditional Yue opera music in his youth, studied ethnic music at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and later taught there as a full professor. He became a distinguished visiting professor at National Tainan University of the Arts in Taiwan. Li published several books on ethnic percussion and composed numerous works, including the notable percussion piece 'Dragon Soaring, Tiger Leaping,' premiered in 1991.
