Minoru Yoshioka was a Japanese poet and surrealist born in Tokyo on April 15, 1919. He worked for a medical publishing company before serving in Manchuria during World War II. His poetry collection 'Ekitai' was published in late 1941. After the war, he became an editor and publisher, notably working at Chikuma Shobō until 1978. Yoshioka received several awards, including the H Prize in 1959 for 'Sōryo', the Takami Jun Prize in 1976 for 'Safrani korjamine', and the Fujimura Memorial Prize in 1983 for 'Kusadama'.
