Minoru Kakizaki was a Japanese naval officer born on August 3, 1922. He was a member of the 72nd class of the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy. During the latter part of World War II, he participated in operations using the human torpedo 'Kaiten'. He was killed in action on May 2, 1945. Following his death, he was posthumously promoted two ranks, achieving the final rank of lieutenant commander in the Imperial Japanese Navy.
