Mindaugas Šliūpas was a Lithuanian basketball player born in 1919. He played for the Lithuania national team and notably won a gold medal at EuroBasket 1939. Although he participated in only one match against Finland without scoring, he remained an important figure in Lithuanian basketball. Following World War II, he was arrested and sent to a Gulag camp, where he spent several years before being released in 1956. After returning to Lithuania, he worked in land improvement and drainage.
