Milton Soares Gomes dos Santos was a Brazilian composer born on August 26, 1916, in Salvador da Bahia and passed away on February 25, 1974. He began studying medicine before shifting his focus to music in 1955. Gomes was a founding member of the avant-garde composer group Bahia in 1966. Between 1962 and 1974, he produced nearly forty works, which gained significant recognition both in Brazil and internationally, including being featured at the International Festival of New Music in Darmstadt.
