Milton Pitts Crenchaw was an American aviator and the first Arkansan trained as a civilian licensed pilot by the federal government. Serving with the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II, he also worked as a civilian flight instructor. Crenchaw broke racial barriers in the military and earned the title 'father of black aviation in Arkansas.' In recognition of his contributions to aviation, he was inducted into the Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame in 1998.
