Competing in the F35 and F36 categories for athletes with spasms, he excelled in discus throw. Kubala won a silver medal at the 1996 Summer Paralympics and gold medals in the 2000 and 2004 editions. Additionally, he claimed medals in world and European competitions throughout his career, which he concluded in 2005 at the age of 59. He was also the father of volleyball player Přemysl Kubala.
