Miguel Gallastegi Ariznabarreta, born in Eibar on February 25, 1918, and passed away in San Sebastián on January 4, 2019, was a prominent Basque pelota player known as Gallastegi or Don Miguel. He played as a rest and debuted on June 29, 1936. Gallastegi gained fame for notable victories, including defeating the formidable Atano III in 1942 and achieving a historic win in 1948 against Atano III in the Manomanista Championship. Despite his popularity and skill, he had disputes over compensation which impacted his later career. He was honored in a 2013 documentary.
