Michio Tanigawa (December 2, 1925 - June 7, 2013) was a Japanese historian specializing in East Asian studies and a professor emeritus at Kyoto University. He had notable siblings, including the folklorist Kenichi Tanigawa and the poet Katsu Tanigawa. His brother, Yoshida Kimihiko, was the founder of the Japan Editor School. Tanigawa's contributions to the field of history were significant, impacting the academic community in Japan.
