Michio Nakazawa (December 31, 1905 - February 13, 1985) was a Japanese writer born in Koishikawa Village (now part of Bunkyo, Tokyo). He graduated from Hosei University in 1928 and began his writing career after winning a literary prize in 1934. Co-founding the literary magazine 'Bungaku Kensetsu' in 1939, he published historical novels and period fiction. He received the first Historical Literature Award in 1943 for 'Awoyama Danto'. In his later years, Nakazawa focused on retelling classics and biographies for children.
