Michio Hoshino was a renowned Japanese nature photographer born on September 27, 1952, and tragically died on August 8, 1996. He is celebrated as one of the most accomplished nature photographers of his era, often compared to Ansel Adams. Hoshino specialized in capturing wildlife in Alaska, where he dedicated much of his artistic work. His life was cut short when he was killed by a brown bear during an assignment at Kuril Lake in Russia in 1996.
