Michal Janek is a Czech physician and politician, born on December 21, 1948, in Nitra. He served as a member of the Czech Parliament from 2010 to 2013 for the TOP 09 party. Before his political career, he was the head of the Eye Microsurgery Center OFTA in Plzeň from 1998 to 2010 and currently holds the title of emeritus chief at the Eye Center Prague. He also ran as a candidate for the Senate in 2018 for TOP 09 in Domažlice but finished third with 15.93% of the votes.
