Michael Sessions is a former American politician who gained national attention when he became the mayor of Hillsdale, Michigan, at the age of 18 in 2005. Winning the election by just two votes, he outpaced incumbent Douglas Ingles. Sessions campaigned with a modest budget from a summer job and promised to increase the number of firefighters in the city. He was sworn in for a four-year term on November 21, 2005, making him one of the youngest mayors in U.S. history. He did not seek reelection in 2009, focusing on his college studies.
