Michael Iheonukara Okpara was a political leader and the Prime Minister of Eastern Nigeria during the First Republic from 1959 to 1966. At the age of 39, he became the youngest Prime Minister in the country. A staunch advocate of 'pragmatic socialism', he believed that land reform was crucial for Nigeria's ultimate success.
