Dr. Michael Greis, born on August 18, 1976, in Fissa, Allgäu, is a German sportsman specializing in biathlon. He is celebrated for winning the gold medal in the 20 km event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Additionally, he secured the title of world champion with the German biathlon team at the 2004 World Championships held in Oberhof, Thüringen, and claimed a silver medal in the same event in 2005 at Hochfilzen. Greis experienced his first World Cup victory in February 2005 at the Olympic course in San Sicario, Turin.
