Michael James Bickle is a British geologist and professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He is recognized for his research combining fieldwork, geochemical analysis, and physical modeling, especially regarding carbon capture and storage. Bickle gained prominence in the 1980s for his work with Dan McKenzie on mantle melting. He has received notable accolades including the Coke Medal in 2003 and the Murchison Medal in 2022, and he was elected a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and the Royal Society.
