Mentor Ralph Williams (1946-2016) was an American songwriter and producer, renowned for writing the song "Drift Away," which was first performed by Mike Berry in 1972 and became a hit for Dobie Gray in 1973. He also co-wrote the successful track "When We Make Love," performed by the country band Alabama in 1984. Williams was the brother of Paul Williams, who is also a noted songwriter and actor. His contributions to music have been recognized through the popularity of the songs he authored.
