Meera Sanyal was an Indian banker and politician, born on October 15, 1961. She served as the CEO and Chairperson of the Royal Bank of Scotland in India. After more than 30 years in banking, she resigned to become the Aam Aadmi Party candidate in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from South Mumbai. She was the daughter of Vice Admiral Gulab Mohanlal Hiraanandani and previously contested as an independent candidate in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from the Mumbai South constituency.
