Mala developed a focus on fabric design and created over 100 pencil-and-paper games, which laid the foundation for his writing career. He has published around 70 books, mainly illustrated by himself, and has written plays, audio dramas, and comics. His work often explores themes of mysticism and white magic, and he is known for his traditional ink drawings.
