He served as the shikari (head of matagi) in the Akinai town of Akita Prefecture, and was referred to as the 'last matagi.' After retiring, he managed the Akinai Matagi no Sato Bear Farm and continued to share his hunting culture through various initiatives, ensuring the legacy of traditional matagi practices endured.
