Mathole Serofo Motshekga, born on April 2, 1949, in Noord-Transvaal, is a South African politician and attorney. He serves as a member of the National Assembly for the African National Congress (ANC) and is a former party whip. Motshekga was also the second Premier of Gauteng. Beyond his political career, he lectures in the law faculty at the University of South Africa. In June 2017, he expressed that the ANC could remove President Jacob Zuma without opposition and openly supported Cyril Ramaphosa for the presidency.
