Mathæus Bech is a Danish double bassist and composer born on August 8, 1995, in London. His music draws inspiration from Nordic folk music, jazz, and classical genres. Raised in Svendborg, he trained under legendary bassist Bo Stief and received education from both the Rythmic Music Conservatory and the Royal Danish Conservatory in Copenhagen. Bech has collaborated with various artists and groups and was the musical director and composer for a production at Østre Gasværk Theater. He also initiated an online concert series during the COVID-19 lockdown, featuring performances each night.
