Masayoshi Nakayama was a Japanese professional baseball player, born on July 3, 1917, in Ehime Prefecture. He was a pitcher who gained prominence as the ace of the Nagoya Kinjyo team before World War II. Over four seasons from spring 1938 to 1940, he contributed to more than half of his team's wins. Notably, he recorded the highest number of losses in a single season in Japanese professional baseball history with 29 losses in 1940.
