Kaiketsu Masateru was a prominent Japanese sumo wrestler, born Teruyuki Nishimori, who achieved the rank of ōzeki twice and won two top division championship titles. He retired in 1979 and became a coach, adopting the name Hanaregoma-oyakata and founding Hanaregoma stable. Later, he served as chairman of the Japan Sumo Association from 2010 to 2012, contributing significantly to the sport after his active wrestling career.
