He was also a music educator and translator, recognized for his contribution to the music scene in Japan. A founding member of the Nikikai opera company, he made significant impacts in vocal performance. His birth name was Seiichi Akimoto, and he is the grandfather of composer Takamitsu Sekiguchi. Akimoto's legacy is cherished in the world of Japanese classical music.
