Mary Kochar (September 9, 1936 - 1994) was an Armenian oriental scholar specializing in Turkology. She earned her PhD in historical sciences in 1992 and became a professor in 1993. Kochar served as the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University from 1978 to 1993 and founded the chair of Turkish and Arabic studies, which was later restructured into the Turkish studies chair, overseeing it from 1975 to 1994. She is regarded as one of the greatest scholars in Armenian oriental studies.
