Notably, he developed a groundbreaking frequency converter control for the Helsinki Metro. His innovations led to the internationally recognized product 'Sami'. In 1995, he was honored with a professorship for his contributions to motor control technology. He authored a book on Sami in 2002 and is buried in Espoo.
