Martin Skotnický is a Slovak figure skater and coach born on August 24, 1947, in Bratislava. Initially a singles skater, he later formed a dance pair with his sister, Diana, winning five Czechoslovak championships from 1970 to 1974. After his competitive career, he became a coach and worked with notable pairs including the 1984 Olympic champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. He later coached the French dance duo Isabelle Duchesnay and Paul Duchesnay, known for their innovative choreography. He resides in Oberstdorf and serves as a coach for the German national team.
