Currently, he serves as a professor of comparative public policy at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen since 2017. His previous positions include being a Fellow at St Cross College, Oxford, and holding the Barnett Professorship at the University of Oxford. He has also taught at the University of Bremen and Duke University in the United States.
