He is the owner of the Martin Schøyen Collection, the largest private collection of manuscripts in the present, featuring over 13,000 manuscripts. Following the death of his father, he took over the family bus company and began expanding his manuscript collection through extensive purchases. By 2004, he was the majority shareholder of Schøyen Gruppen A/S.
