Martin Valdemar Nielsen (1927-2018) was a Danish trade unionist and social democratic local politician who served as the mayor of Glostrup Municipality from April 1, 1970, to March 1, 1983. Before becoming mayor, he was vice-chairman of the Danish Postal Union and held various positions in the trade union movement. Initially elected as a mayor with little political experience, he adeptly facilitated cooperation among parties, achieving re-election multiple times with an absolute majority. After leaving office, he became the director of Glostrup Housing Association.
