He serves as co-CEO of the Vistria Group, a private equity firm in Chicago, and is a board member of CenterPoint Energy, Norfolk Southern Corporation, and American Airlines Group. Nesbitt founded The Parking Spot and previously served as its CEO. He is closely associated with former President Barack Obama, having been his campaign treasurer in 2008 and currently chairs the Obama Foundation's board.
