Martin G. Lockley (1950–2023) was a Welsh palaeontologist notable for his expertise in fossil footprints. He earned both BSc and PhD degrees in Geology in the UK and became a professor at the University of Colorado at Denver, later attaining Professor Emeritus status. Lockley was a director of the Dinosaur Tracks Museum and served as Associate Curator at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History. He also studied the evolution of consciousness, obtaining a BA in Spanish with a minor in Religious Studies in 2007.
