Martin Kasarda is a Slovak postmodernist writer born on July 26, 1968, in Košice. He studied at the Faculty of Education at the University of Nitra. Between 1990 and 1993, he worked as an editor for the literary magazine Kultúrny život. He spent the next five years in advertising and became an editor at the daily newspaper Národná obroda in 1998.
