Martin Elmer, born Robert Cecil Martin Elmer Berg on February 20, 1930, in Copenhagen, was a Danish author known for his works in both children's and adult literature, including fiction and non-fiction. He made his literary debut in 1949 with the novella 'Drengen der ville være brandmand' and published his first book, 'Verden uden drøm,' in 1959. An advocate for social issues, he was openly gay and contributed extensively to literature on homosexuality. Elmer lived in Torremolinos with his partner Erik Fink until his death on November 29, 2008.
