Martin Drescher was a German politician of the SPD born on August 12, 1925, in Berlin and passed away on March 26, 2000, in the same city. He attended a secondary school and was conscripted into the Reich Labor Service and later the Wehrmacht during World War II. After the war, he studied engineering and worked as an engineer. Drescher joined the SPD in 1946 and was elected to the district assembly of Schöneberg in 1954 and to the Berlin House of Representatives in 1958, resigning in 1963.
